10to8's iOS app is primarily used by one-man-band businesses, to view and book appointments on the move. My task was to make it easier for users to find the features they needed every day.SOLUTION
I conducted research through a dedicated user panel, user interviews and guerilla testing. I prioritised for their most common tasks and put them a single tap away: booking an appointment, seeing their week's schedule and viewing customer information.
One feature of 10to8's web app is a customisable landing page for businesses, which their customers can use to book with them. My task was to design a page suitable for any business type, which would convert the end customers to booking.
I interviewed business users about their online presence, favourite websites and what role 10to8 could play. Then we developed fast iterations, ran user testing videos, tweaked and deployed daily. We pushed traffic to a selection of pages to measure the effect of changes on booking numbers.
10to8's business-facing web app is a powerful but complex system. My task was to re-design the confusing interface to make the learning curve easier, as well as make it usable on mobile.
I prioritised features and focused on simplifying two main tasks: booking and viewing appointments. For example, we found the suggested slots you can see at the bottom of the existing design were rarely used, and caused confusion.
